What is Tomurcuk App, how does it work, and who is it for?
Tomurcuk App (tomurcuk.app) is a daily-question app for couples. Every evening both partners get the same question; the answers stay sealed and open at the same time once both have written theirs. It runs on iPhone and Android and can be used in Turkish or English. It's made by Deer Studios in Ankara and has been on the App Store and Google Play since October 2026.
- Who it's for
- Couples who want to know each other better, whether dating, engaged or married, and especially couples who live in different cities or countries. It's for ages 18 and over.
- How it works
- One of you creates a six-character couple code in the app and the other enters it. Every evening the question lands at a time you choose together (8 pm Istanbul time by default). Whoever answers first can't see the other's answer until both are written, and you have until midnight that day.
- What's inside
- A bank of 984 questions, 184 tests across 12 topics, Sky for couple astrology, Nest with a tomurcuk you grow together, chat, and Thinking of you, sent with one tap. Two home-screen widgets on iPhone.
- The questions
- Written in Turkish rather than translated, and every one also has an English version. Each partner can use the app in their own language.
- What it doesn't do
- It doesn't work alone; it needs two people paired up. It isn't a substitute for therapy or couples counseling. Sky is for entertainment.
- Pricing
- Free to download, and the daily question stays free. The Intimate and Long distance question categories, all the tests, full history and all of Sky are part of Tomurcuk Premium, monthly or yearly. One subscription covers both partners, and there's no free trial.
- Phones
- iPhone with iOS 15 or later, Android 7 or later. One partner can use an iPhone and the other an Android phone. Widgets are iPhone only, on iOS 17 or later.
- Privacy
- Only the two partners can see their answers and messages; they aren't sent to an AI, used for ads or sold. Nobody on the team reads them unless something is reported. Details in the Privacy Policy.
- Not to be confused with
- Other apps share the name: a baby and child development tracker (tomurcukapp.com), Montessori games, and special education and school apps. This page is about Tomurcuk App, the couples app at tomurcuk.app.

What an evening looks like
When the time comes, the same question lands on both your phones, for example "What random detail about me lives in your head rent free?" You write your answer and send it, and it's sealed. When your partner writes theirs, both answers open at the same time. You can react to their answer with an emoji, and "Talk in chat" takes the topic into your chat.
Every day you both answer, your streak grows by one. If you miss a day, you can rescue the streak the next day with a repair: one a week on the free plan, three on Premium.
Why it exists
The idea came out of co-founder Ege's long-distance relationship: he was in Leuven, his partner in Ankara. Here is how he puts it on our site:

Is Tomurcuk free?
It's free to download, and the daily question will stay free. You don't pay for the daily question, sealed answers, couple chat, most of the tests, Nest or the widgets. More is in Tomurcuk Premium, and one subscription covers you both.
Can I use Tomurcuk on my own?
No. Tomurcuk is for two: one of you creates a couple code and sends it to the other, and you're paired once they enter it. Your first question lands that evening at question time.
Does it work if one of us has an iPhone and the other an Android phone?
Yes, an iPhone and an Android phone can pair. The home-screen widgets are iPhone only for now.
Is Tomurcuk good for long-distance relationships?
The idea came from long distance in the first place. The question lands for you both at the same moment, and you pick the time together. If you like, you can see each other's city and local time, and on iPhone the widget also shows the distance between you.
Is Tomurcuk App the same as tomurcukapp.com?
No. tomurcukapp.com is a development tracking app for parents of children aged 0 to 6, made by a different team. The Tomurcuk on this page is the couples app by Deer Studios, at tomurcuk.app.
Who can see our answers?
Only the two of you. Answers and messages aren't used for ads, sold or sent to an AI. Nobody on the team reads them unless one of you reports something.
Where can I download Tomurcuk?
From the App Store and Google Play. If you open tomurcuk.app/indir on your phone, the right store opens on its own.
